Do you want to know what runs on:
3 x AAA
3 x 9V
and
31 x AA batteries ?

The tank is David's
The robot and yellow digger and loader and GMC Van is Alexander's
and the 4X4 is mine

all I can say is thank goodness we have rechargeable batteries!!!!

We had a fun afternoon at the local school playing with our toys - not to mention chasing the cat round the house and yard with our toys.

26 December 2008

A few photos from Christmas Day
the first ones are at the bottom!!! work your way up.

Alexander had a ball, he totally loves his remote control digger and excavator he got from Nanny and Grandad.

Not to mention his RC huge train set - there is a little bit of remote control fever in our house as we went out this morning for the Boxing Day sales and Daddy got a RC tank, Alexander got a RC robot and I got a RC 4x4 truck. With all these toys that require batteries, we have a factory here of batteries on charge or in toys!!!

I just adore my Golliwog money bank that my sister in law sent all the way from the UK, she looks cute with my other gollies.

David got a large tool box from Alexander for Christmas, we thought it was time he progressed from a small cardboard box to a real mans tool box - hehe!

We had a wonderful lunch at mums place, this is the first year that David has not been outside on the BBQ cooking lunch etc, so he happily played with Alexander and all his toys.

I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch at 8.30pm, all that toy removing from boxes took it out of me.

Yesterday Alexander was eating his dinner, and he called out to me "look i can do magic" and when I looked over at him he had a tea spoon hanging off his nose!!!!! Magic I tell you!!! He did it again for these photos. He is crazy I tell you, I'm still laughing now.
Never did I think that, that little sweet newborn baby would be hanging spoons off his nose 3 and a half years later....

He is all tucked up in bed asleep waiting for Father Christmas, mean while we have another 20 presents to wrap :-)

Alexander had the farm visit his kindy today, he loves rabbits as you can see. He loved feeding the sheep and the goats, chickens etc. He must get his love of animals from me i guess, he's not afraid at all, he even lay down next to the pig for a cuddle & a chat so the kindy teacher told me after I left... hehehe!

Most of you know that I love to do scrap booking, and photography, that's my thing :-)
I was thrilled to be invited to join a CT (creative team) for Galiscraps, its a huge honor that a designer loves what I do and wants me to scrap with their products before they are released to the public.

Alexander with Santa this year, he was so excited about going to see him, we had to go twice.
Not like his photo from last year (wanted to be as far away as possible) check back to last Decembers posts if you wanna see...lol
And I notice that I had dressed Alexander in socks and sandals of all things!!!! Ohhhh the shame, sorry son!!!

Next week is the last week of kindy as well, on the last day the kids are having a party and the mobile farmyard is coming with rabbits, guinea pigs, lambs, chickens and goats etc. I know Alexander will love this :-)

Alexander's Santa Hat photos. I do these every year.
These were just quick ones taken with my phone while I wait for the digital camera batteries to charge up, but I really like these so may not need to take anymore, I'm sure I will as Alexander loves to wear the Santa hat, he wanted to wear it to kindy today...hehehe

Alexander is eagerly awaiting the arrival of "Farmer Krit-miss"

I'm pleased to report that we are in full potty training mode!!! He is doing so well, amazing what a little bribery can archive. He gets a little treat of a few M&Ms when he has been to the potty. Clever boy Alexander.

16 November 2008

Alexander says the most funny things at times.... here are two of my favourites right now....

He loves to sing Baa Baa Black sheep, but instead of "One for the Master he says Monster"

and he has a Pinocchio puppet in his room but he calls him Poke-in-no.

12 November 2008

How about I remind you its only 6 weeks till Christmas...fancy that!!!

Here are Alexander Christmas scrapbook pages minus this year as ive not taken the santa hat photos yet.

11 November 2008

Alexander wanted to show you the jar of Daddy's computer screws!!! And why does he want to show you?
Lets just say Mummy has spent the last 3 days checking poos for the offending screw that Alexander swallowed. I found it today. So Alexander was telling the truth on Sunday morning, he said he had eaten one of Daddy's shiny screws!!!!
NOTE TO DADDY..... pick up all your computer bits!!!

I never expected after 3 and a half years he'd eat something NOW!!!!

24 October 2008

A little video for my Aunty Lesa....this is off mummy's phone, sorry its on the side - silly mummy is still working out how to use her phone.

Alexander has had 2 experience's with death of animal's now, first Nanny's fish while she was away that mummy flushed down the loo, much to his delight, and every day after that he was asking to flush more!!!!

Today Bobo the cat brought a bird in and played with it in our bedroom, i didn't find it till this afternoon, dead amongst a load of feathers all over the floor. Alexander first asked if it was sleeping and promptly told me to "shhhhhh"

I did explain that it was dead like Nanny's fish were. Later in the day he told Daddy that Bobo had broken the birds wings and asked if he cold smack Bobo!!!!

19 October 2008

so sorry its a little late, we have a card in the mail for you as well.

17 October 2008

Don't you just love the look of total concentration on his face, anyone would think he was a "professional gamer" looking at him...(he he) well aside from being in his pj's and sitting on the potty.

Alexander on his bike down at Avalon park.

10 October 2008

Alexander loves to play with water, he is always damp when I collect him from kindy! Nana lets him stand on a stool at the kitchen sink to play with the water, bubbles and every pot, container, and cup are used.

07 October 2008

I know its been 2 months since the last update!!!
all I've got for now is a new scrapbook page....

14 August 2008

Alexander and I are sick again!!!
I'm so over winter, not to mention going from winter to summer (UK) and back to winter again all in 4 weeks. Not to much going on here really.
David is still doing well with the whole no smoking thing, although I will say he has been very grumpy and short tempered. Ive still got plenty of photos to load up. I'll add a few more now of our time in the UK.

Alexander just loved to sit and watch the front loader washing machine doing its thing!!!!

Alexander with his big Thomas mummy won for him at Thomas Land, I did have to spend 8pound and have 8 goes to get him, not to mention get another suitcase to bring him home in.

Daddy and Aunty Sharon watching over the boys on the trampoline - Alexander getting some "air"

01 August 2008

Finally back home again!
Alexander travelled like a real pro, but I do recommend the use the Phenagan haha! helped him to get off to sleep and stay asleep. On the way over he could stretch out as the plane wasn't full, and we could use an extra seat, not so much luck on the way back but we did manage.
Poor David is quick sick, with a trip to the after hours doctors at the insistence of myself and my mum after she collected us from the airport. He is back at the Dr's this morning and I'm waiting for him to call me now.
Ive got a load of photos to show you all, sorry will have to wait for them, as I've still not unpacked as yet and I'm still feeling quite jet lagged. Must admit 2 early nights have helped greatly.

UPDATED: After Xrays, blood tests and a few other tests David is on the mend thank goodness!!!! Although everyday he comes home with a new bag of pills...hehehe He has a very bad chest infection and not pneumonia as had been thought. It has given him a very good reason to give up smoking, and im pleased to report he has gone 7 days now!!!! No sneaking off for a quick puff here and there either.

14 July 2008

Alexander and Sarah this afternoon - after a late lunch at McDonalds together.

06 July 2008

This will be about as close as Alexander will EVER get to riding a real motorbike, mean mummy I know! But they are just to dangerous for my liking.
He just loves the coin operated ones at places like Chipmunks and Lollipops play land.

ALL ABOARD FOR ALEXANDER'S PARTY EXPRESS!
(all photos below can be "clicked on" to enlarge for better viewing)

It's not very often that I write here on what is Kim's blog - her story through her eyes of our life at any given moment in time. Today we felt it appropriate that I make a few comments. But firstly I want to say a big thank you to Margaret for organising Alexander's party on the train.

Birthdays can often be driven by material things with the occassional surprise dropped in for good measure. Sometimes we can lose sight of those things that really matter at a time of celebration and sometimes we can be painfully aware that a special "something" is missing or family members cannot be there to share that "special time". It was with mixed emotions that we set off for the afternoon, enjoying Alexanders obvious excitement that only a three year old can show (yet be so unable to explain) and a little sadness that, that special "thing" is missing - that "icing on the cake" so to speak.

There are material surprises and then there are those wonderful surprises that no amount of money could ever buy. I will never be able to put into words the surprise, pride and "warmth" that I felt when Alexander's sister, Sarah and Jayme turned up out of the blue.

ABOVE - Jayme (almost 18 years of age now) shows her "motherly" instincts by looking after Sophie with Alexander close by her side.

ABOVE - Sarah and Alexander share a few quiet moments and a drink.

ABOVE - Sarah and Jayme help Alexander open some presents. At this stage he had spent most of his time with them. I guess he knew there were some "pressies" there somewhere.

ABOVE - Alexander and Daniel both try to see who can get the most paper off the fastest.

ABOVE - Alexander and Kim cut his cake. Kim you did a great job with your first attempt at baking!

So again to Margaret a big thank you for organising what turned into a better than expected afternoon. To Alexanders friends and parents - thank you for the gifts. To Kim thank you for being such a wonderful partner to me and such a wonderful mother to our little "gift". Importantly, to Jayme and my special daughter Sarah - thank you for providing that gift of a "surprise that no amount of money could ever buy" - sharing what was such an important and special day to Alexander. And to my special son - Happy 3rd Birthday. Love Dad xxxxxx
